A Child Called "It" chapter 4

This chapter made me want to just cry I couldn't believe the things he had to go through just to get food!!His mom would forget to feed him.How on earth do u forget to feed your child??He would steal lunch from his classmates while they were outside playing.On the weekends him mom would punish him by not feeding him.That summer they went on vacation to the Russian River by then he felt that things might be getting better but he was so wrong! His dad was getting ready to take his brothers out and him,but his mom said that he had to stay home so he did.During this part of the book it made me want to throw up she smeared his little brothers diaper in his face and then wanted him to eat it by this time his dad was returning home so she made him clean up as if nothing ever happened.He was so desperate for food that after his nightly chores he would dig through the trash just to eat something his mom was finding out that he was eating so she would pour ammonia in the trash so he could no longer eat from the trash.I couldn't imagine not eating food is one of the main things in my life.Sitting here writing this makes me want to cry again.

A Child Called "It" chapter 3

In this chapter it talks about how the mom drastically changes from this kind nurturing mother to this wicked witch.Her form of punishment seems a little harsh first she makes him stand in the corner for hours hes to afraid to say anything so he just stands there til his mom says to leave.Then she changes punishment to the mirror treatment she would grab him and smash his face against the mirror smearing his tears on the glass making him say "I'm a bad boy! His father was never home anymore.One day she came at him drunk and jerked his arm and ended up braking it she had no remorse for doing it either all she did was make him sleep in the top bunk so when his father would ask what happened he would just say he fell out of the top bunk.Most of his beatings happend when his dad was away.I'm so shocked that this mother could do this to her own son.People like her shouldn't be allowed near children not even her own!!!!

A Child Called "It" chapter 2

When I read chapter 2 it seemed way better to me!!It was talking about how his life use to be good and the things he and his family did together.His dad is a firemen,so he wasn't home a lot.So his mom would take him and his brothers on trips around the city and teach them things(he was in kindergarten when this was happening).It seemed like a picture perfect family to me like nothing could go wrong.Around the holidays the mom would do wonderful things for them and let them have a lot of pets.And the one thing she liked to do was cook.And I guess now she hates it.I'm anxious to finish the book to see what went wrong!

A Child Called "It" chapter 1

I just started a new book called A Child Called "It" written by Dave Pelzer.I've heard from friends and family that this was a very good book.When I read the first chapter I wanted to cry how could a mom hurt her own child like that I mean its just horrible. I could never make my child starve or beat him.The child's name is David and him mom is really mean to him.If he doesn't complete his chores he wont be allowed to eat and if he does he gets scraps that the dogs wont even touch or want to eat. In this chapter the principle and teachers try to help him and a police officer does too.And they find a way to rescue him,Which made me really happy!!
